Fire Upgrade Term Contract, University of Bristol

In 2009 we secured a long term contract with the University of Bristol for Fire Upgrade Work to be undertaken in many locations within their vast property portfolio.

A high majority of the work involves carpentry required to existing doors; upgrading them to meet current standards and/or installation of new fire doors. This includes hinges, intumescent products, door closers and door signage. Other work includes alteration of fire alarm systems, general fire signage, fire grilles, specialist coatings, purpose made joinery and fire stopping.

Due to the quantity of work involved the University has out-sourced some of the design and all the cost control. Therefore we work closely with independent Designers, Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors on projects in various locations ensuring that they run smoothly, safely, and that costs are controlled.
